Beach mission. . . where's the sand?

What do you do when you want to run a beach mission but you’re 50 miles from the nearest beach? Easy... you build your own. You just need a vision and 10 tonne of sand!

Beach Life at Bramhall

BeachBBQ

For two weeks in August, the car park at Ford’s Lane Evangelical Church became 'Bramhall Beach Life' complete with sea gulls, a seascape and the sound of waves on the shore. During the day there were stories from the Bible, craft activities, games and plenty of time to make sand castles. And, of course, seaside rock. In the evening the sand was raked and the volley ball net went up as burgers sizzled and mock tails flowed.

Between 30 and 50 children with their carers visited the beach each day and everyone went away with a goody bag which included a Gospel message. It was a great opportunity for conversation and the community of Bramhall will be talking about their very own seaside for quite a while.

..... I wonder how they got rid of all that sand?
