National Mission Co-Ordinator (Wales)

Full-time | Wales | £48,974 per annum

Scripture Union is passionate about seeing a new generation of children and young people have a vibrant, personal faith in Jesus. We are seeking a National Mission Co-Ordinator (Wales) to work in partnership with key staff across the Movement. The postholder will provide direction, leadership, vision and energy to Scripture Union’s National Ministry across Wales. 

This will require the person to lead and manage the National Team, take the strategic lead in the recruitment, motivation, training, equipping and supporting of Volunteers/Faith Guides and the modelling of excellent mission delivery to children and young people, consistent with Scripture Union’s mission and approach. They will both inform and steer the strategic direction of Scripture Union’s ministry.

The successful candidate will:

· Lead and manage the national staff team in the strategic development of ministry across the nation.

· Inform and help shape Scripture Union’s national ministry by joining Working (Focus) Groups as agreed with your Line Manager.

· Oversee the national strategy for identifying, recruiting, training and supporting Faith Guides, volunteers and Local Mission Partners (LMPs).

· Provide strategic lead for local mission activity within Scripture Union’s mission framework, establishing a clear hand-over process and timetable to local church partners. 

· Pioneer new approaches/ideas in line with SU’s strategy that have the potential to be replicated elsewhere and lead to greater scale and depth of mission activity including the development of content and working with the Development Hub in its testing and delivery.

· Consult and agree financial priorities and oversee the national budget ensuring the greatest impact and ensuring national worker specific fundraising activities and approaches are implemented.
