Taking Diary of a Disciple into your school

We love to see children and young people engaging with God and getting excited about the Bible!

At the end of April we got to see just that as we held five workshops based on the new book Diary of a Disciple, a contemporary retelling of Luke's Gospel.

Working alongside Melody from SPLAT, one of our Preston-based local mission partners, we have developed an hour and half workshop to enable Year 5 students to engage with the Bible and learn more about Jesus in a fun, creative and relevant way.

It has been so encouraging to see students engrossed in Luke's Gospel and eager to learn more. One student even commented that Diary of a Disciple would definitely be added to his birthday list this year!

Teachers also really enjoyed the workshops and were impressed with how engaged some of their most challenging pupils had been throughout the session.

At the end of the workshop each child was given a mini edition of the book to take home and each school was gifted with a new hardback copy for their school library.

Overall the sessions have been a success! Keep your eyes peeled as we develop the session further and make it available as a free resource for all.

We are really looking forward to seeing and hearing stories of many more children and young people across the north west and nationally having new opportunities to explore the Bible and encounter Jesus!

Written in a quirky, contemporary, accessible style, Diary of a Disciple offers a way into the Bible for the next generation
