In a year where we thought no residentials would be able to happen, we were delighted to announce our last minute residential holiday, Great Wood Adventure, for 11- 17 year olds. Even more encouraging, it was fully booked within 7 days!
Following guidelines from the National Youth Agency on running residential camps for children, Mike and Rachel Forsyth, together with their team are really busy getting everything ready, as well as making some adaptations in place to ensure camp is safe for both children and adult team.
As the dates approach, we’d love for you to hold them, their team, and all of Scripture Unions holidays and missions in your prayers.
In their own words...
The theme for the evening meetings is “Faith that’s… Real, Strong, Lasting, Searched-for, Mine-to-own” in our small groups we’ll be discussing the Kingdom of Heaven from Matthew's Gospel.
Looking back on this last couple of months, we’re particularly thankful to God for the patience of leaders setting aside holiday and annual leave not knowing whether camp would go ahead. And this last week in particular, seeing God provide four new leaders to fulfil key roles of catering, lifeguard and first aid. He is a God that provides!

- Another female leader and someone who can lead sung worship
- The children who’ve signed up. We’re mindful that after a year like no other where gathering outside of school has looked very different, there will be a whole mix of feelings
- God’s protection over children and team both in the lead up to camp and during. We realise that getting everyone to camp and signed in has a few more hurdles than other years
- Our team time on the 30th and 31st July before campers arrive. Being a last-minute residential, this will be the first time we come together as team
And lastly, please pray that within all the guidelines we’d have an absolutely amazing time!
