A story from Glossop . . .

2017 was a fantastic opportunity to see the ongoing presence of local churches in Glossop furthering their relationship with their local community by holding a fun day for the fourth year running

The Eden Bus visits Glossop

The day involved bouncy castles, face painting, free food, go-karts, the Eden bus and loads of fun. The prayer and relationships between the church and the community has been developing for decades and the church has seen a real outpouring of interest in people wanting to know more about Jesus.

The Eden bus was such a success that those who have been in the heart of the planning wanted to see it being used in the community on a weekly basis.

Thanks to the help of the SU Good News Fund the bus has been in the core of the community every Friday night across winter, where there has been an influx of young people and children hearing about Jesus for the first time and wanting to know him more. The church did not want to stop there, every Sunday afternoon these young people are invited to a discipleship group where they are able to get to know Jesus even more.

In April 2018, local churches from across Glossop and Tameside, are going to put on a youth conference using creativity and sport to explore identity, faith and their value in Christ.

It's amazing to see how one idea has rippled into numerous projects, new relationships and regular contact with young people and children in the core of the community.
