Focusing on Digital Transformation and Delivery
Scripture Union has embarked on an ambitious programme of digital transformation to enhance our effectiveness and increase our impact. A new website has been launched and we now plan substantial investment in a digital-first approach to content development and delivery – all designed to fulfil our mission.
We are looking for a gifted Christian leader with significant senior management experience in a large commercial or non-for-profit organisation, to become one of the movement’s trustees – alongside seven others, each of whom brings their own distinctive blend of skills and experience. We need someone who shares our vision, belief and values, with a desire to participate in our mission by sharing in the volunteer leadership of the movement and who has extensive experience in digital developments. Ideally this would include practical expertise and knowledge of strategic management of digital transformation projects, alongside operational management in at least one of digital content development, digital marketing, social media marketing, customer engagement or analytics.
As a trustee, you would support the leadership team in setting vision, strategic planning, evaluating the movement’s progress and ensuring accountability to stakeholders. The ideal candidate will combine strategic vision, creative thinking and sound independent judgement developed through broad experience of the Christian church in general and Scripture Union mission activity in particular.
The role, which is unremunerated, requires attendance at four Board meetings each year, held on weekday afternoons. In addition, attendance is required at two Council meetings each year, held on Saturdays, and there are a limited number of supporting meetings along with the associated preparation. There will be scope for further involvement in the life of the movement over time.
