Here's a quick guide to the main changes and improvements you’ll experience on your new SU website, helping to ease your digital experience with Scripture Union
Listening, learning and improving
"Over the last few years, we have had a dialogue with over 5,000 supporters, practitioners, volunteers and event participants. People like you, people who form the heart of the SU movement. We’ve sought to understand your views and opinions of our shared mission and our digital infrastructure, what we were doing well and what we could do better.
We knew we couldn’t just rest on our laurels as technology and society moved on, not if we were to remain relevant and effective in mission.
This new digital platform is the fruit of that conversation, plus long periods of reflection and prayer. We do hope that it proves a blessing."
Tim Hastie-Smith, Scripture Union's National Director at the time of launch.
So what's new?
As a donor
We greatly value everything you do, and we wanted to make it as easy as possible for you to see just what a difference your support makes. That’s why you can now find stories and case studies of the work you fund. We aim to continually add to these as stories and testimonies come into us from across the movement.
You’ll also find (praise God!) that the site is now mobile responsive and giving on a tablet or mobile phone is much easier.
We also wanted to make it much easier for you to manage your relationship with us, to give you full control of your SU experience. You can now quickly do this here.
As a user of SU resources and products
We want to ensure you can find what you need, when you need it, so we’ve built a brand new resource centre with better categorisation and search facilities.
Everything we produce, be it for personal reflection or to support missional work, is now gathered together in one place.
You’ll still be able to purchase the old favourites, but we’ve also added hundreds of free resources for you to enjoy.
All you need to do is create an account, something that only takes a few minutes, and you’ll gain access to all we have to offer, plus we’ll also give you a discount code for money off your next purchase.
You can find further information about ordering items from SU here.
As an event leader or volunteer
We're currently working hard to update and improve your online experience as an SU event leader or volunteer.
Right now things will operate in the same way as they have done for the last few years and you can access Count me in as before just via a new route. You’ll find links on this site from the Holidays & Events page.
As a parent or guardian of a child/young person involved in a SU holiday or mission
Right now things will operate in the same way as they have done for the last few years and you can find all the usual information and book onto an event or holiday in the usual way. You’ll find links on this site from the Holidays & Events page.
Improvements are underway and coming soon will be a much improved platform to find the event that’s right for you, and book a place.
We also already have a new Holiday Fund that can help provide support for a child or young person in your life to attend an SU holiday. We aim for money to never be the reason for missing out on one of these life-changing experiences.
As a user of our 'Live' websites
For the time being, there are no major changes for you, and you can continue to enjoy using WordLive, LightLive and SchoolsLive just as you were. However, our new website provides loads of opportunities to make your digital experience even better and we're looking in to how best to do that as we speak. As soon as anything changes, you'll be the first to know.
Please note: If you've set up an account on the new Scripture Union wesbite (and you really should!), it's not currently linked to your WordLive, LightLive or SchoolsLive account. As such, any changes you make here won't be reflected over there and vice versa.
As a Scripture Union prayer supporter
We're so thankful for your prayers. Without the faithful prayer support of people like you, the work we're involved in would be fruitless. To help you pray, we've got a prayer prompt for every day of the year. You can find that in the 'prayers' section of our news and stories page.
The prayers also feature in our supporter magazine, Connecting You, which also has a new home here on our website (here).
As a church
We want to support you and your church as you reach out to children and young people in your community. We're also incredibly grateful for all the support we receive from churches.
We've got a new area of the site especially for churches.
Here you can explore how we can support and equip you through our new resource centre, or through the support of your local SU team.
You'll also find ways your church can support us and we can work together to build God's kingdom.
As a user of Light resources Bubbles/Splash/X Stream/The Grid
For the time being, there are no major changes for you, and you can continue to access supporting resources for Bubbles, Splash, X Stream and The Grid as usual. However, our new website provides loads of opportunities to make your digital experience even better and we're looking in to how best to do that as we speak. As soon as anything changes, you'll be the first to know.
