Security of the website
We work to protect the security of your information during transmission by using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) software which encrypts information you input. If using a modern web browser, you should see the address bar turn green and a padlock sign will appear whenever you are in a part of the website which may include your personal details.
We do not reveal any of the digits of your credit card numbers when confirming an order. We download your order via encryption software for the purposes of processing and charging the order to your credit/debit card, and we store the order details securely in paper form in accordance with accountancy rules.
We do not retain your credit/debit card details on our servers once your payment has been approved.
You should protect against unauthorised access to your own computer. It is important to sign off when you finish using a shared computer.
Managing Payment Cards
Scripture Union does not store details of the payment cards you have used on our site. This is to ensure compliance with the PCI-DSS standards which we are assessed each year.
Our new ecommerce system for the resource centre gives the facility to communicate with our secure payment gateway (PayPal Braintree) to access previously used payment cards. This is done through a small encrypted file called a token. The only details visible are the last 4 numbers of the card and the expiry date to help you to identify the card.
If you wish to remove that token we do offer this option. Following this link will take you to an area of the site where the 2nd tab allows you to delete the reference to the payment methods. (see image below).
