Information regarding returns and refunds of resources and donations
At Scripture Union, you can shop with confidence knowing that if you change your mind about something you've bought we offer a no-nonsense, hassle-free approach to returns and exchanges within 30 days of purchase. Beyond this period we may not be able to offer a full refund or exchange, but please contact our Supporter Care Team on 01908 856000.
To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it, eg pack items not split/opened. It must also be in the original packaging. Ebooks and downloads cannot be returned.
If you are returning a faulty or damaged item, please return it to us with a cover note including details of your purchase and information about the fault. We will be happy to arrange an exchange or refund.
We cannot refund any item purchased from another bookstore or online retailer. Please contact the retailer who sold you the product.
To return an item, please contact the Supporter Care Team on 01908 856000. Do not send your purchase back to the dispatch centre as we will not be aware of its return.
You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item. Shipping costs are non-refundable. We advise obtaining a proof of postage for your own protection should the package get lost or damaged in transit.
Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.
We are committed to the highest standards of legal compliance and we treat all requests for refunds with the utmost importance. Once we receive all the information we require, we can then advise you of how long things will take, usually seven working days. Refunds will be applied according to your original method of payment.
Direct Debits are covered by the Direct Debit Guarantee and any refunds due to error (by Scripture Union or your bank) will be refunded immediately. Any cancellation of the subscription will be subject to the terms above.
App store subscriptions/purchases
We cannot offer any refund or exchange for purchases via app stores. Please contact your app provider directly if you have any issue with app purchases.
Cancelling an order
You can cancel within seven working days of submitting your order by emailing [email protected] or by contacting us over the phone on 01908 856000.
If the items have already been dispatched, we will treat this as a returned item rather than a cancellation (see above). If the items have not been dispatched, you will receive a full refund of the cost within seven days.
Subscription cancellations and refunds
You have the right to withdraw from the subscription contract at any time up to and including 14 days from the day you receive your order, provided the goods are unused. (Consumer Contracts Regulations). Notice of cancellation of your contract can be given by post, telephone or email.
After this time, you can cancel your subscription at any time for a refund of all unmailed issues. Please note that an issue is counted as mailed once despatch instructions have been sent to the distributor. Any cancellations received after this point will take effect from the next issue.
Under charity law, charities are not permitted to refund donations, other than in specific circumstances. See sections 63–65 of the Charities Act 2011.
