For parents and grandparents
HELP THE CHILDREN YOU LOVE DISCOVER JESUS

Faith starts in everyday moments
YOU DON'T HAVE TO HAVE ALL THE ANSWERS
As a parent, grandparent or carer, you already have something incredibly important: a relationship with a child you love.
Helping them discover Jesus doesn't have to begin with a big plan, a perfect Bible lesson or knowing exactly what to say. It can begin with curiosity, a question, a story, a prayer or simply making space to talk about faith together.
Whether the children in your family are already asking questions about God or faith hasn't really come up before, you can start with where they are and with the relationship you already share.
You don't need to be an expert. You just need somewhere to start.
Start with what you already share
FAITH CAN GROW IN EVERYDAY LIFE
You don't always need to create a special moment to talk about faith. Some of the best opportunities are already part of family life.
01
FOLLOW THEIR QUESTIONS
When they ask about God, prayer, death, fairness or why something has happened, you don't need a perfect answer. Explore the question together and let the conversation develop.
02
SHARE YOUR OWN FAITH
Tell them why Jesus matters to you. A simple story about a time you prayed, something you have learned or how your faith helped you can make belief feel real and personal.
03
MAKE SPACE TO EXPLORE
Read a Bible story together, watch something that sparks a conversation or find a resource that helps them explore Jesus at their own pace.
04
PRAY TOGETHER
Prayer doesn't need complicated words. You could thank God for something good, ask for help with something difficult or simply invite them to tell God what's on their mind.
There isn't one right way to begin. Start with the child in front of you, the relationship you already have and the moments that naturally come along.
LET THEM EXPLORE GOD FOR THEMSELVES

A LITTLE HELP FOR THE CONVERSATIONS THAT MATTER
Your relationship with your grandchildren gives you a special opportunity to encourage faith and help them discover Jesus.
You may know that you want to share your faith but wonder how to begin. Family life, different generations and different attitudes to faith can sometimes make those conversations feel complicated.
The Grandparents’ Guide to Passing on Faith is a practical resource to help you think about how faith can become a natural part of the relationship you already share with your grandchildren.
