Part-time Christian Schools’ Worker & Church Youth Worker

To join the Reach team in developing the work of sharing the Gospel in secondary schools, plus some Year 6 work, in the Greater Reading area. Additionally, with 12 hours of secondment to develop the youth work at Tyndale Baptist Church.

Our vision is to see pupils and staff flourish in school and have the opportunity to explore Christianity through the provision of pastoral care and curriculum support for RE, PSHE and RSE in partnership with local churches.

Role: To join the Reach team in developing the work of sharing the Gospel in secondary schools, plus some Year 6 work, in the Greater Reading area. Additionally, with 12 hours of secondment to develop the youth work at Tyndale Baptist Church.

Hours:

  • Term-time only
  • 24 hours per week
    • 12 hours for Reach in schools mainly during school hours
    • 12 hours for Tyndale’s youthwork, 8 hours during the week and 4 hours on Sundays
  • Hours are flexible and must be agreed with the Ministry Director and Tyndale Pastor. 

Fixed-term contract for one year with a view to offering a permanent position if funding allows.

Salary: £14,400 per annum (£31,200 FTE)

We also offer: Scripture Union & Baptist Union training, a pension.

Accountability:

  • To the Ministry Director of Reach (Reading Schools’ Christian Work Trust).
  • To the Pastor of Tyndale Baptist Church

Workplace:

Reach’s office is in the Tyndale Baptist Church building, so the person employed will work 

out of one location.
