Questions to kick-start great conversations

The Rooted Junior Hub Cards are a fantastic tool that will help you to open up conversation with children. This 64-card pack enables you to begin to connect with children as they start to think about who they are, why they matter and the difference Jesus can make in their lives. The questions are focused around four broad subject areas:

• General questions about everyday life and the world around us
• Faith-based questions for those with little or no faith
• Wellbeing questions exploring feelings and emotions
• Choices questions, opening up conversations about making healthy choices

These can be used in a variety of ways – by concentrating on one subject area, picking out a small number of questions, letting children choose or selecting questions at random. They can be used as part of a session, during the in-between times (eg waiting for people to arrive or in between activities), as part of a Rooted Junior Hub or as conversation starters in social events.
