We long to see a new generation with a vibrant faith in Jesus. Are those prayers beginning to be answered? Could we be witnessing a groundswell of children and young people seeking truth in God's Word? We are living in extraordinary times, that's for sure!
Here at SU, we are increasingly hearing stories of God stirring in the lives of young people, with many without church backgrounds responding to the gospel in remarkable ways. Let's thank our amazing God who can do more than we ask or imagine!
Much more than a report!
YouGov have now acknowledged that the data they provided for use in Bible Society's 'The Quiet Revival' report was flawed. Even so, we're no less encouraged!
The data doesn’t change what we’re seeing day in and day out. Our teams continue to witness hopeful signs of God at work in the next generation – from Year 5 pupils starting Alpha courses for their whole class, to children with no church background hearing clearly from God in their dreams. Something is unmistakably stirring in young hearts.
🙏Please keep praying for those who are seeking and asking big questions about faith – ask God to do a deep and lasting work in their lives. And pray that churches will step into this moment, revealing Jesus in ways that are relevant, relational and rooted in love.

❤️ In the Midlands
In a desire to know God, a teenage girl prayed to every God she could think of with no response until she had an incredible revelation of the love of Jesus in her bedroom. She found a local church and began to read the Bible.
⛪ St Aldate's Church, Oxford
So many young people turned up for the Easter Sunday service that screens were needed outside to enable people to gather and worship outside in the streets!
🚸 In the south east
Two primary school girls with no church background both had revelations of Jesus and his love in their dreams. They decided to start a prayer club at their school.
📱 Online
One teenager who had been exploring dark spirituality online had a vivid vision of Jesus in a dream. She turned up at a local church on a Wednesday afternoon, found the church leader walking in the graveyard and through conversation began a journey of faith.
📖 North East England
After an urge to research God online, two teenage boys turned up at a local church and started talking to two curates. That day, both of these young men were led to the Lord! They have since come to church almost early every week, attending on Sunday evenings and joining a mid-week Bible Study.
Now, our God, we give you thanks, and praise your glorious name.
1 Chronicles 29:13
The statistics below are taken from Bible Society's 'The Quiet Revival' report, released in 2025. Recently, YouGov informed Bible Society that survey sample on which the report was based was faulty, and it can no longer be regarded as a reliable source of information about the spiritual landscape in Britain. However, we've left some of the statements here as they support the anecdotal evidence we're seeing. Data accuracy or not, we're seeing people in England and Wales being far more open to the gospel now than in the past few decades, and many signs point to Gen-Z coming to church in greater numbers than ever before.
📖 37% of 18- to 24-year-olds say they are curious to discover more about the Bible
Pray for our Mission Resources team as they develop resources to help children and young people read the Bible. Ask God to help these children and young people to find good resources and individuals well equipped to support and disciple them as they explore God's Word..
👨👩👧👦 Church attendance in parents of under-18s has risen from 7% in 2018 to 13% in 2024
While there are no specific numbers for under-18s, the evidence suggests that something is drawing parents to church. We're hearing of children learning about Jesus in school contexts then asking to be taken to church. Pray for those working in schools ministry across the country.
💬 34% of 18- to 24-year-olds would attend church if invited by a friend
Thank God for our Mission Enablers and Faith Guides who are pioneering methods of Relational Mission. Pray for those attending the online workshops we're running in May. The first is all about equipping children and young people to have the confidence to talk about their faith (see below for more info.)
⛪ Regular church attendance in 18- to 24 year-olds has risen from 4% in 2018 to 16% in 2024
Pray for this generation of young believers that they will be confident sharing their faith and discipling the 'turner uppers'. May this generation birth new leaders, pastors, culture shifters, pioneers and world changers filled with the power of God and ready to see more of his kingdom come.
🙏 We believe we are at the beginning of an extraordinary season! Join us in praying that God will continue to do wonderful things in many, many young lives.
