From the 3rd - 7th February Message Wales will be taking the 'Higher Tour' to North Wales to work alongside churches as they visit schools to share music and the love of Jesus
The week is nearly here! Scripture Union Cymru has been working closely with 'Message Wales' over the past few months as they bring their Higher tour to the north Wales coast. Three Christian bands will be coming to the area to lead lessons and assemblies in secondary schools, culminating in a gig (concert!) on the Friday evening in Venue Cymru’s 2,000 capacity theatre.
We have had some amazing responses from churches on the North Coast and had approx. 50 people turn out to pray for the event at the prayer evening a couple of weeks ago.
Please continue to pray for links between churches and schools, between our Local Mission Partners and the schools in which they are working, and for the young people who interact with the team to have their curiosity about Jesus raised through the events.
The team still have some gaps in their diary and are available for schools on the Tuesday, Wednesday and have a potential extra slot on the Thursday. Let’s pray into these days that schools will come forward and take up this wonderful opportunity.
We believe that lots of young people will respond initially at the gig, but we are also praying for God’s ongoing work in their lives so that there is a long-term change in them. Churches who have partnered with ‘Message Wales’ have been putting together follow up events for after the gig.
Tickets for the gig are now available online for £5. You can purchase them here. Tickets will also be available on the door for £5. We will be selling tickets in schools for £3. Adults are welcome to attend and there will even be a parents section. Adults who are not coming to be part of the response team or pastoral team will need to purchase a ticket.
If you are in the area and able to join the team, there will be a meeting on Wednesday 5 February at Gloddaeth Church to pray for the Higher Tour and for the gig specifically. The meeting will start at 7.30pm.
