Do you share our vision of a new generation of children and young people who have a vibrant, personal faith in Jesus and want to be part of our mission to create opportunities for children and young people to explore the Bible, respond to Jesus and grow in faith?
Scripture Union is a Christian charity, inviting children and young people to explore the difference Jesus can make to the challenges and adventures of life.
Through a wide range of activities and initiatives, we provide opportunities for young people to explore the Bible, respond to Jesus and grow in faith. We believe that every child should have the chance to discover Jesus. With an estimated 95% of children in England and Wales not part of a church, we're working harder than ever to take the good news of Jesus beyond the church in exciting and culturally relevant ways.
We are looking for gifted and experienced Christians who share our vision, belief and values and who have a heart’s desire to participate in our mission, to share in the volunteer leadership of the movement. We are seeking additional members of our Council who are passionate about helping to shape and grow the contribution Scripture Union can make to the work of the Kingdom and who have expertise or experience in an area relevant to Scripture Union.
We are looking for people from a variety of ages, locations, skills and experience but would particularly welcome candidates with expertise and experience either in digital and/or social media, in non-residential mission activity or in working with children and young people who are not connected to the church.
The role, which is unremunerated, requires attendance at two Council meetings each year, held on Saturdays. Council meets to help discern how God is leading Scripture Union by assisting in outlining future direction, evaluating progress and considering topics which significantly affect the mission. Members of Council also elect trustees who have legal responsibility for the movement.
