Join our growing team!
We’re looking for creative people to join our friendly team who are passionate about spreading the message of God’s love like ‘Wildfire’ to the next generation! We're looking for people with enthusiasm, an entrepreneurial spirit and a prayerful approach to reaching young people in their spaces and spreading the vision of Wildfire.
Could it be you?
Who we are
Wildfire was founded in 2016 during 'Tent on the Green', a worship festival where youth workers across Winchester came together to welcome young people into God's presence. The Wildfire team have continued to work together ever since with the same vision; to help create safe spaces for young people to encounter God's love in a way that transforms their lives and equips them to reach their potential. The work of Wildfire has grown and developed to include connections with 19 churches of varying denominations and regular work within Winchester’s secondary schools. The team collaborates on termly city-wide evangelistic events, as well as an annual residential weekend away. In April 2023 Wildfire was given charity status, enabling us to run yet further with the vision, and to start recruiting both youth workers and office staff who can creatively take hold of pioneering opportunities to work with us. Wildfire also works in partnership with organisations such as Scripture Union, Golddigger Trust, and Relational Hub, who support us in our vision of ‘revealing Jesus’ to those not yet connected to the Church in a way that is 100% relational. These partnerships offer our team the chance to benefit from training, forming part of our commitment to excellence and growth as leaders.
We have 2 posts
- A Youth Work Programme Lead, for those with leadership experience and a background in pioneering new projects
- A Youth Worker, suited to those with less experience but a strong passion for supporting young people through relational, on-the-ground work
We would warmly welcome conversations with anyone who feels they align with either of the roles — whether they come with a strong leadership background or are newer to youth work but eager to grow. We are also flexible on the number of hours, ranging between part-time and full-time hours for either role, including term-time only as an option. Just speak to us about what you're most interested in.
Linked below are both job descriptions, application form and cover letter.
Our deadline for this particular wave of recruitment is Friday 15th Aug, but we are a growing charity always looking for new team members and to give opportunities for people to gain youth work experience. So please reach out at any point for a conversation.
If someone in your church/organisation or wider community has a heart for young people and feels this could be a good fit, we would love to have an informal conversation with them to explore what might be possible. Please contact [email protected] to make this happen!
