Help open the doors for the next generation of Christian young leaders

Across England and Wales, God is clearly at work. We’re seeing a generation of young Christians who are ready to step into leadership and speak about what their faith means to them. Peer‑to‑peer evangelism is one of the most powerful ways young people explore faith.

Through Scripture Union’s Young Leaders programme, young people move from curiosity to confidence. They learn to own their faith, articulate what they believe, and step boldly into leadership. For many, it’s the first time they’ve explored what they truly believe and why - the moment their faith becomes their own.

Will you help remove financial barriers so young Christians can access the training they need to share Jesus well?

Beth’s spiritual maturity shows what can happen when young people are given space to explore faith and step into leadership

‘It was mid‑camp; I was sleep-deprived and leading the morning Bible study. I was praying that God would give me the right words, but to be honest I had low expectations. To my surprise, the campers were energised and excited to talk about Jesus. Their awe and wonder were refreshing and uplifting.

I was reminded that leading isn’t about me or what I can bring. God’s Word doesn’t need embellishing. The simple truth of the gospel is powerful. I was also greatly encouraged by the children’s faith and desire to know God. It didn’t matter that they were young — God was speaking to them and moving in their hearts.

Lord, help us remember that leading is only about you. Give us a childlike faith and help us grow more in awe of you each day. Amen.’

These words weren’t written by an experienced Christian leader, or someone who’s spent decades following God. They come from Beth, just 16 years old, reflecting after volunteering on a Scripture Union holiday as a Young Leader.
