Scripture Union missions and holiday clubs are an important part of Scripture Union's work as we share the good news of Jesus with children and young people across England and Wales.
These events are incredible opportunities to share the good news of Jesus with the 95% of children and young people (and their families!) who don't go to church and it is thanks to the faithful prayers and generous donations of supporters that they are able to run completely free of charge!

Scripture Union started in the late 1860s with one individual who saw an opportunity to share the good news of Jesus with children and young people.
Whilst on holiday in Llandudno, North Wales, Josiah Spiers spontaneously held a children’s meeting on the beach. He wrote ‘God is love’ in the sand, and this simple but compelling message attracted the attention of local young people. Through games and stories Josiah Spiers empowered his young audience to engage with Jesus.
Much has changed since Josiah Spiers, but the big idea is still the same; share the good news of Jesus with the next generation wherever they are!
