Back in March, we joined with more than 300 Scripture Union representatives from 100 different countries for the Scripture Union Global Gathering in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This was a truly special event, bringing SU leaders, volunteers and supporters together for the first time since Covid. It was awesome to be able to be in one place, worshiping together and learning from each other!

The thought-provoking conference theme was ‘Bridging the gap’ (between the church and the world, the generation gap and the gap caused by social divisions and injustice), and this inspired many ongoing conversations that will help SU to remain relevant in sharing the good news with the younger generations we each seek to connect with.

Richard Shaw, SU England and Wales’ Head of Mission recounts, ‘It was a real joy being with brothers and sisters from across the global movement, hearing about the challenges they have in their countries (some of whom are at risk of persecution) but also wonderful stories of how they share the love of Jesus with children and young people. It was a truly inspiring and uplifting time for all of us coming from England and Wales!’
